Awesome Westonbirt Hall Wedding Photos Followed By A DIY Back Garden Party – These Two Were Serious Rock Stars!
Just Doing It There Way
Emma and Leigh’s DIY back garden wedding is one of the best examples I’ve seen of a couple taking every element of their wedding and making it their own. The whole day and night were filled with DIY details that matched their fun and adventurous characters perfectly! Having known Emma and Leigh for several years I was expecting a fair bit of awesomeness but their day blew my mind.
Some Kick Ass DIY Details
Their DIY wedding was taking place in their back garden in Somerset. This is where I started the day with boys who were putting the finishing touches on the marquee and other bits and pieces. Naturally this also included making sure the beer taps were working correctly with a few pints. Meanwhile, the girls were enjoying some Prosecco and practising the best techniques for walking down the isle. Heading to the ceremony I was lucky enough to join Emma & her father (who’d flown in from Uganda) in her Grandad’s stunning retro Consul. It may not have had any seat belts and struggled with both hills and cornering but wow was it spectacular.
Westonbirt Hall as a Wedding Venue
The ceremony was taking place at the beautiful Westonbirt Hall. Their ceremony was filled with fun and emotional touches including a reading from the Velvet Rabbit, Go-Pro Selfie video and songs from a couple of their friends. It was wrapped up by Emma & Leigh being bombarded with dried pressed daisies which friends had been working on for the past month. The Westonbirt Hall was surrounded by stunning grounds where we were able to enjoy a little time for some fun and relaxed portraits. We were then back off to their garden where the party really started to kick off.
So Many Awesome Moments
Spoilt with sun, champagne, canapés, popcorn and Leigh serving Mr Whippy’s from an ice-cream van (yes they had rented an ice-cream van) their was a real festival feel to the afternoon. The celebrations continued into the marquee over dinner with a lot of cheering support for the waiting staff and a spontaneous Mexican Wave. The speeches provided the perfect mix of laughs and tears. It was also at this time that I noticed the bowls the table flowers were in had goldfish in them.
The party extended well into the early hours of the morning, fuelled by their Honesty Bar and party swinging music selection. Those who survived until the end were greeted by a bonfire in the next door field before collapsing in their tents.
Congrats again to Emma & Leigh for creating an epic wedding experience in their back garden that none of their guests will forget. You guys were absolute rock-stars!
