Hope in Heels Charity Fundraiser in Battersea Park

London event photography jobs come in all shapes and sizes. Photographing Hope In Heels in Battersea Park was certainly one of the most entertaining ones I’ve done. Without question it’s been the one with the most hairy calves on show.

What is Hope In Heels?

Hope In Heels was the brain child of London Personal Trainer Sarah O’Neill. Having volunteered with the charity Hope HIV she wanted to do something that combined both her passions for the charity and fitness. I think her passion for having a good time may have been a small factor as well. In short it was a fun-run around Battersea Park where the runners (both male and female) wore high-heels. The men were a surprisingly co-ordinated bunch with not a single twisted ankle between them. All proceeds raised by the event went to hope HIV.

What Happened on the day?

The day involved a whole range of entertaining sights. From a dancing warm up (lots of Beyonce), to butlers in the buff, selfie stations, vodka jellies and a lot of partying at the finish line! It was certainly not what the usual crowd of dog walkers and joggers were used to seeing on their Saturday mornings. The whole day was filled with laughs and merriment.

Huge shout out to all the runners that took part! Especially the two fellas who came all the way from Spain (winners of the ‘Knob’ whiskey bottle below)! Also credit to all the supporters that made it such an awesome afternoon! These included Urban Play, Massage Warehouse and The West End School of Beauty.

I’ve heard rumours that they’ll be organising another Hope In Heels next year so keep your eyes peeled. As hopefully the below photos will prove, this is not a London event to be missed!
