From Piddinghoe Church to Pelham House, with Retro Buses and an Unforgettable Dance Floor, here is James & Elizabeth's Wedding Story
James and Elizabeth’s wedding day was a truly special affair, beginning in the charming village of Piddinghoe. The day was rooted in personal connection, with Elizabeth getting ready at her parents’ home nearby before taking a beautiful walk through the village to St John’s Church for the ceremony. Elizabeth shared how excited she was for the ceremony, a wonderful moment that was clearly the highlight of the day for her.
To transport their guests to and from the church, they arranged two fantastic red retro London double-decker buses, which added such a fun, classic touch to the day. It had the bonus of keeping energy levels high, with everyone together, between the ceremony and the reception at the beautiful Pelham House in Lewes.
Pelham House, which I have had the pleasure of photographing before, provided a gorgeous backdrop with its charm and lovely grounds for the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and very entertaining speeches.
The evening was always going to be one for the books. Having witnessed the incredible energy at James’s brother Jon’s wedding, I knew James and Elizabeth’s dance-floor would deliver.
After the speeches, the room was quickly transformed for the evening party. Elizabeth’s change of dress for the first dance marked the start of an absolutely amazing, high-energy dance floor that kept the celebration going late into the night. It was a perfect reflection of their joyful spirit and photographing it was well worth the bruised feet.
